ON TAP
Hooray for Luray IPA ABV 7.3% IBU 55
A classic cheer for a classic American hometown IPA. It’s robust in resinous aromas, not unlike a clear, Friday night game. Bites like a Bulldog and finishes with a balanced scoreboard – a real crowd pleaser.
Haymaker Cream Ale ABV 5.0% IBU 18
All a boy wants after a day of baling hay is a cooler full of beer. And, back in the day, that’s what they got – a light-tasting, easy-drinking, clean beer to complement their heavy day of pitchin’ squares.
Running Red Lights Red Ale ABV 5.4% IBU 28
Three weeks in a two-stoplight town becomes a forever home for sweet charm. Let this front porch swinging red ale make a memory on your palate. Don’t let the bitter back slow you down – run the red light to a clean finish.
Mile Marker 8 Belgian Wheat ABV 5.4% IBU 23
Also known as “Lot 8,” this Belgian wheat is a sweet spot for Shenandoah River dwellers to start or end their float. From sunrise to sunset, Mile Marker 8 will keep your toes puckered to the sky with a tangy, yet slightly bitter ride. Ask for an orange slice for an extra boost!
Peach Orchard Saison – 6% ABV IBU 31
True to style Saison with an added peach puree. The peach on the nose and pallet does cut down on some of the classic Saison notes but make no mistake, this is an easy summer Saison.

July 5, 8, 12 & 19, and 22 from Big Meadows Lodge (mile 51 on Skyline Drive)
Easy to enjoy, these hikes feature the natural world as it settles into evening. Hiking out into the “big meadow” at dusk through the dramatic changing colors of the mountain sky and, eventually, the incredible spread of the night sky with its multitude of stars … (at 3,500 ft., you are high above the haze and light pollution of the mid-Atlantic). You’ll also be looking for all kinds of animal signs and seasonal plants as you explore the ecosystems of the meadows. This is truly an unforgettable experience. Distance covered is less than one mile. Led by Andy Nichols of Shenandoah Mountain Guides.
Meet at the grassy circle in front of the lodge at 6:30 p.m. (May thru July) and depart promptly at 7:00 p.m. Meet at 6:00 p.m. (August) and depart promptly at 6:30 p.m. You will be driving your personal vehicle to the meadows area. Return to the lodge between 9:30-10:00 p.m.
- $30 per person.
- No pets allowed on hike.
- Dress: long pants, sneakers (no open-toed shoes). A jacket is definitely recommended and a flashlight can also be helpful.
