WE ARE ALWAYS OPEN

Shenandoah National Park is always open, however be aware that most visitor facilities and services operate only from mid March to late November. Byrd Visitor Center has special winter hours which can be found HERE.

Skyline Drive may be temporarily closed* on short notice for indefinite periods due to winter weather conditions. For current Skyline Drive conditions:

Special Winter Hours

Dickey Ridge Visitor Center (mile 4.6) will be closed until April and Harry F. Byrd Sr. Visitor Center at Big Meadows (mile 51 on Skyline Drive) will be open daily 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. through November 27. Click HERE for the winter hours of operation.

Restrooms are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at each visitor center location.

In addition the following picnic grounds will remain open year round, weather permitting: Elkwallow, Pinnacles, South River, and Dundo.

All other facilities are closed for the season.

* Visitors may still enter the park on foot to hike even when the Drive is closed. Click HERE for current Skyline Drive status.
