Big Meadows area (mile 51 on Skyline Drive). National Parks are becoming a refuge for people from city light pollution. Join amateur astronomers as they present a provocative presentation on controlling light pollution while they point out the heavenly stars.  Featuring 1Eta Aquarids (60 1P/Halley) & Late Lyrids?(18 C/1861 Thatcher) Moon -19%, Beehive Cluster, galaxies.

Telescopes will be provided and guests are also encouraged to bringtheir own binoculars for celestial viewing.  An electronic scope projecting onto a screen will also be used that can show things that the eye can’t see. In color too! 

Held at the Rapidan Gate access road. A lawn chair and flash light is recommended. Free to all park visitors.
