Event Details

Big Meadows area (mile 51 on Skyline Drive). National Parks are becoming a refuge for people from city light pollution. Join amateur astronomers as they present a provocative presentation on controlling light pollution while they point out the heavenly stars.  Featuring  28% Crescent Moon, Milky Way, Saturn, Jupiter, Uranus. Mars late.

Guests must supply their own binoculars for celestial viewing as telescopes may not be provided in the spring if still under COVID restrictions. An electronic scope projecting onto a screen will also be used that can show things that the eye can’t see. In color too! 

Held at the Rapidan Gate access road. A lawn chair and flash light is recommended. Free to all park visitors.
