Summer Means Outdoor Fun Time at Shenandoah National Park

NOTE:  Shenandoah National Park/Skyline Drive is now open with some restrictions.  Visit the park’s official website for full details.

Whether you have a day or a week, now is the time to plan your summer visit to Shenandoah National Park.

Shenandoah offers over 500 miles of hiking trails, and almost all of its 196,000 acres is open to backcountry camping. You’ll find unique opportunities for stargazing, birdwatching, and wildlife viewing.

Looking for a guide to introduce you to fly-fishing, rock climbing, or bicycling in the Park? Shenandoah has an annually updated list of permitted outfitters and guiding services.

Make sure to check the Ranger Programs schedule for a hike, walk, or talk that interests you. Stop by a Visitor Center to get hiking suggestions, learn from interpretive exhibits, and watch a documentary film.

Rainy weather never dampens the fun at Shenandoah, as there is always so much to do including entertainment at the lodges, visits to our cultural sites and exhibits, and excursions to nearby attractions.

You’ll bring back a lifetime of wonderful memories!
