Big Meadows area (mile 51 on Skyline Drive). National Parks are becoming a refuge for people from city light pollution. Join amateur astronomers as they present a provocative presentation on controlling light pollution while they point out the heavenly stars. Featuring Milky Way, Saturn, Jupiter. Moon/Mars late/
Guests must supply their own binoculars for celestial viewing as telescopes may not be provided in the spring if still under COVID restrictions. An electronic scope projecting onto a screen will also be used that can show things that the eye can’t see. In color too!
Held at the Rapidan Gate access road. A lawn chair and flash light is recommended. Free to all park visitors.
