Hiking in Winter is Simply More Fulfilling

Winter hiking

It’s cold, yes, but winter hiking is more invigorating than hiking in the heat and humidity of summer. You can pay less attention to your own huffing and puffing and more attention to the little things you miss in summer – the crunch of frosty ground beneath your hiking boots, the bossy caw of a raven from a nearby tree, the almost peppermint-y scent of winter air.

Even the coffee you brewed at home tastes better when drunk from a Thermos on top of Turk Mountain or from Stony Man Overlook.
