Skyland is located at the highest point along Skyline Drive in Virginia’s Shenandoah National Park at an of elevation of 3680 feet.
Skyland encompasses 36 acres with 28 buildings situated on 16 of those acres along the crests and wooded areas.
Located at miles 41.7 and 42.5 on Skyline Drive, it’s not far from Stony Man trail, a well known, short and pleasant hike, offering some of the best vistas in the park. The close proximity of the Shenandoah River, Shenandoah Valley and the town of Luray to park facilities makes lodging and cabin rentals at Skyland a desirable vacation destination.
Skyland offers 178 rooms ranging from cozy, historic cabins to newly renovated Premium rooms with air conditioning, TVs, and patios or balconies. Operating season is early April through late November. The property is closed during the winter.
Due to the COVID-19 restrictions and safety guidelines, many of the regular events and activities have been cancelled. However, there are a series of Stargazing programs featured at both Skyland and Big Meadows Lodge, all following the current social distancing and other CDC guidelines.
